One-Stage Versusc Staged Laparoscopic-Assisted Anorectoplasty for High-and Intermediate Anorectal Malformations: Medium-Term Outcomes from a Propensity Score Matching Analysis

This propensity-matched study of 242 boys with high and intermediate anorectal malformations demonstrates that one-stage laparoscopic-assisted anorectoplasty in neonates results in significantly fewer postoperative complications compared to traditional staged procedures with colostomy. The findings support primary repair as a viable alternative that may improve outcomes while avoiding the morbidity of staged reconstruction.
