Risk factors for lateral lymph node metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma in children

Retrospective study of 48 pediatric PTC patients identifies multifocality, tumor size >10mm, extrathyroidal extension, and central lymph node involvement as independent risk factors for lateral cervical metastasis. 62.5% presented with lateral lymph node involvement at diagnosis, highlighting the aggressive nature of pediatric thyroid cancer.
