Congenital lung malformation patients experience respiratory infections after resection: A population-based cohort study

Population-based cohort study of 31 children who underwent congenital lung malformation resection shows persistent elevated risk of respiratory infections post-surgery compared to matched controls. Pneumonia risk remained 9.75 times higher after resection, challenging the assumption that elective surgery eliminates infection risk.
