EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES IN SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN WITH A HISTORY OF ISOLATED HIRSCHSPRUNG DISEASE ARE EQUIVALENT TO THEIR PEERS

Retrospective cohort study of 75 children with isolated Hirschsprung disease shows early developmental delays in preschool years, but equivalent academic performance to matched controls once formal schooling begins. Findings challenge assumptions about special education needs and support normal educational expectations for these patients.
