Implementation and outcomes of enhanced recovery protocols in pediatric surgery: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Systematic review of 1723 pediatric patients demonstrates that Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols significantly reduce hospital stay by 2.5 days and opioid use while accelerating return to enteral feeding, with no increase in complications or readmissions. Higher compliance with ERAS elements correlates with better outcomes.
