The Cutback Revisited — The Posterior Rectal Advancement Anoplasty for Certain Anorectal Malformations with Rectoperineal Fistula

This study describes a modified cutback technique for repairing rectoperineal fistulae in children when the fistula lies at the anterior edge of the sphincter complex. The posterior rectal advancement anoplasty avoids anterior dissection, eliminating urethral or vaginal injury risk while achieving successful outcomes in 10 patients without postoperative strictures.
