Effect of Surgeon Volume on Pediatric Thyroid Surgery Outcomes: A Systematic Review

Systematic review of 6,430 pediatric thyroidectomy patients demonstrates that higher surgeon volume correlates with improved outcomes, including lower complication rates and shorter hospital stays. Definitions of high-volume varied widely across studies (≥9 to >200 annual cases), but concentration of cases to experienced surgeons consistently improved results.
