Patient-reported physical and psychosocial significance of abdominal scarring in anorectal malformations

Cross-sectional study of 27 ARM patients shows one-third experience behavioral changes due to abdominal scarring from colostomy procedures, with 78% suitable for corrective plastic surgery. Findings suggest routine scar assessment should be integrated into ARM follow-up protocols to address both physical symptoms and psychosocial impact.
