Autoaugmentation: A Feasible Option before Ileal Augmentation in Selected Cases

Retrospective study of 59 pediatric patients demonstrates autoaugmentation as a viable bladder management option before ileal augmentation, with 83% avoiding reaugmentation over median 64-month follow-up. Preoperative bladder capacity below 50% expected predicts higher reaugmentation and incontinence rates, while preoperative hydronephrosis correlates with upper tract deterioration.
