Meso-Rex bypass versus portosystemic shunt for the management of extrahepatic portal vein obstruction in children: systematic review and meta-analysis

This systematic review and meta-analysis compares meso-Rex bypass (MRB) and portosystemic shunt (PSS) for treating extrahepatic portal vein obstruction in children. Analysis of five observational studies found no significant differences in shunt complications, mortality, or post-operative bleeding between the two approaches, though evidence quality was low and future multicenter trials are needed.
