Parental Post-operative Telephone Follow-Up After Paediatric Day Case Surgery

Study of 112 pediatric day surgery patients demonstrates that telephone follow-up by parents on postoperative day 3 is safe and reliable, with 98% concordance with clinic assessment and ability to identify patients requiring in-person visits. Telephone follow-up was acceptable to most caregivers and could replace routine clinic visits for uncomplicated cases.
