Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on surgical skills training in pediatric surgery residents

Retrospective analysis showing COVID-19 pandemic reduced pediatric surgery resident operative experience by 46-57% during March-May 2020 compared to prior years. Despite increased simulation training and study time, 70% of residents reported decreased surgical confidence due to loss of hands-on learning opportunities.
