Topic overview
Multi-center South African study of 476 children with intussusception found delayed presentation (median 3 days) resulted in low non-surgical reduction success (28%) and high operative rates (70%). Earlier diagnosis and referral could reduce bowel resection rates and improve outcomes in resource-limited settings.
