Implementation of a checklist to improve pediatric trauma assessment quality in a Brazilian hospital

Brazilian trauma center study found that introducing a standardized checklist did not improve adherence to pediatric trauma primary survey protocols, with compliance remaining around 50-58% among both surgical and non-surgical providers. The findings highlight the need for comprehensive trauma system improvements including specialized pediatric provider education and triage optimization rather than checklist implementation alone.
