Novel modification of laparoscope-assisted inguinal hernia ligation to decrease knotting associated complications

This article describes a technical modification to laparoscopic percutaneous extraperitoneal ligation (LPEL) for inguinal hernia repair aimed at reducing knotting-related complications such as infection, pain, and palpable knots. The innovation addresses the incorporation of excess abdominal wall tissue into the knot, a common issue with standard LPEL puncture techniques.
