Does Voiding Cystourethrogram Exclude Posterior Urethral Valves in Late Presenting Cases?

Study of 17 boys with late-presenting posterior urethral valves reveals VCUG missed the diagnosis in 6 cases (35%), with normal-appearing urethra despite confirmed PUV on cystoscopy. Authors recommend cystoscopic examination for boys with recurrent UTI, persistent reflux, or daytime incontinence regardless of VCUG findings.
