Comparing 30-day outcomes between early versus delayed repair of anorectal malformations with perineal or rectovestibular fistulas: An analysis of the ACS NSQIP-Pediatric database

This NSQIP-Pediatric database analysis of 291 patients compares early (≤7 days) versus delayed (6 weeks-8 months) repair of low anorectal malformations with perineal or rectovestibular fistulas. Early repair showed shorter operative times and no increased risk of 30-day complications, suggesting it is a safe option when surgeon experience permits.
