Percutaneous nephrolithotomy in children

This retrospective study evaluated PCNL safety and efficacy in 123 pediatric patients with renal calculi. The procedure achieved 94.5% stone clearance with minimal morbidity (3.1% transfusion rate, mean hemoglobin drop 1.24 gm%), demonstrating that modern PCNL techniques are safe and effective for managing large kidney stones in children.
