Establishment and characterization of an ovarian yolk sac tumor patient-derived xenograft model

Researchers established the first patient-derived xenograft model of ovarian yolk sac tumor by implanting patient tissue into immunocompromised mice. The model faithfully replicated the original tumor's histology and immunohistochemistry, and responded to BEP chemotherapy similarly to clinical outcomes, providing a valuable platform for testing new treatments and studying disease mechanisms.
