Childhood outcome after correction of long-gap esophageal atresia by thoracoscopic external traction technique

This cohort study evaluates long-term outcomes in children with long-gap esophageal atresia treated using thoracoscopic external traction technique, achieving esophageal repair within days of birth. At seven-year follow-up, most patients achieved age-appropriate oral diet and normal growth with quality of life comparable to healthy controls, though multiple dilatations and anti-reflux surgery were commonly required.
