Safety of Veress needle for laparoscopic entry in children: Myth or reality?

This 14-year retrospective study of 3,463 pediatric laparoscopic procedures demonstrates that Veress needle entry combined with radially expanding trocars is safe, with only 0.06% bowel injury rate and no vascular complications. Previous abdominal surgery significantly increases bowel injury risk during entry.
