Pediatric Modification of the Medically Necessary, Time-Sensitive Scoring System for Operating Room Procedure Prioritization During the COVID-19 Pandemic

This article presents a pediatric adaptation of the Medically Necessary, Time-Sensitive (MeNTS) scoring system for prioritizing surgical procedures during COVID-19. Applied to 101 cases at University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital, the system accounts for pediatric-specific factors like congenital anomalies while balancing resource conservation, infection risk, and medical necessity.
