Are routine postoperative dilations necessary after primary posterior sagittal anorectoplasty? A randomized controlled trial

Randomized trial of 49 ARM patients found no significant difference in stricture rates between routine postoperative dilation (21%) versus non-dilation (32%) groups after PSARP. Results support non-dilation as viable alternative, potentially reducing psychological burden on families while maintaining comparable outcomes.
