Best Buy in Public Health or Luxury Expense?: The Cost-effectiveness of a Pediatric Operating Room in Uganda From the Societal Perspective

Economic analysis demonstrates that establishing a dedicated pediatric operating room in Uganda is highly cost-effective at $37.25 per DALY averted, well below standard thresholds. The study supports surgical infrastructure investment in sub-Saharan Africa as a worthwhile public health intervention when existing hospital capacity can support staffing.
