PROTEIN EXPRESSION IN VESICOURETERAL REFLUX: WHAT ABOUT CHILDREN?

Study examines protein expression of GDNF/RET, PAX2, and FGFR2 genes in ureterovesical junction tissue from 19 pediatric patients undergoing ureteroneocystostomy for VUR. Results show significantly reduced expression of all three proteins compared to β-Actin, with no correlation between protein levels and reflux grade or renal function.
