Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma in Children: Clinicopathological Profile and Outcomes of Management

Retrospective study of 82 pediatric PTC patients reveals aggressive presentation with 47.6% having cervical nodal metastasis and 11% distant metastasis at diagnosis. Post-thyroidectomy hypocalcemia occurred in 47.6% of cases, with metastatic cervical nodes and tumor size identified as significant risk factors for persistent and metastatic disease respectively.
