The risk factors for cholestasis in patients with duodenal atresia in a single institutional cohort
Topic overview
Retrospective study of 76 neonates with duodenal atresia identifies preterm delivery (gestational age <35 weeks) and elevated inflammatory markers (CRP >2.4 mg/dL) as independent risk factors for postoperative cholestasis, which occurred in 27% of patients. Total parenteral nutrition duration was associated but not an independent predictor.
