CONservative TReatment of Appendicitis in Children: a randomised controlled feasibility Trial (CONTRACT)

Feasibility study demonstrates that recruiting children with uncomplicated appendicitis into a trial comparing antibiotics versus surgery is achievable, with 50% enrollment rate improving to 72% after recruiter training. Both treatment pathways proved safe with acceptable outcomes, supporting progression to a definitive trial.
