Long-Term Outcome after Dynamic Graciloplasty for Treatment of Persistent Fecal Incontinence in Patients with Anorectal Malformations
Topic overview
Long-term follow-up study (mean 11.6 years) of 23 patients who underwent dynamic graciloplasty for severe fecal incontinence shows comparable outcomes between patients with anorectal malformations and those with other etiologies. Contrary to previous reports, ARM patients demonstrated similar implant usage rates and quality of life scores, supporting DGP as a viable treatment option for selected ARM patients with persistent incontinence.
