Thoracoscopic oesophageal atresia/tracheo-oesophageal fistula (OA/TOF) repair is associated with a higher stricture rate: a single institution’s experience

This retrospective study of 95 OA/TOF repairs found thoracoscopic approach associated with higher stricture rates (72% vs 43%) compared to open surgery, though strictures responded similarly to dilation. Low leak and recurrent fistula rates suggest protective benefit from post-operative positioning and ventilation protocols.
