Congenital abdominal wall defects and cryptorchidism: a population-based study

Finnish national registry study of 188 male infants with abdominal wall defects found significantly elevated rates of undescended testis: 10% in gastroschisis and 25% in omphalocele cases, compared to general population. Authors recommend systematic testicular examination and follow-up in all boys with congenital abdominal wall defects.
