Closing the gap in care of blunt solid organ injury in children

Study comparing outcomes of pediatric blunt spleen and liver injuries across trauma center types (2007-2016) found that adult trauma centers continue to operate more frequently and keep patients longer than pediatric centers, despite guidelines emphasizing physiologic criteria over injury grade. All center types fall short of consensus discharge recommendations.
