Long-term Outcomes and Satisfaction Rates after Costal Cartilage Resection for Slipping Rib Syndrome

Long-term follow-up study of 49 pediatric patients undergoing costal cartilage resection for slipping rib syndrome demonstrates high efficacy with 72% reporting complete cure and 83% satisfaction rates above 7/10 at median 4.5-year follow-up. Recurrence occurred in 11 patients due to residual cartilage or rib hypermobility, supporting surgical intervention as effective treatment for patients failing conservative management.
