Differences in post-operative complications after reconstruction for congenital biliary dilatation in a single institution-Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy versus hepaticoduodenostomy -

Retrospective comparison of 23 patients with congenital biliary dilatation treated with either Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy (n=15) or hepaticoduodenostomy (n=8) shows no significant differences in postoperative complications, cholangitis rates, or long-term outcomes over 28 years, suggesting hepaticoduodenostomy may be an acceptable alternative to the standard Roux-en-Y approach.
