Rat bite injuries in children: description of a novel classification

Retrospective study of 59 children with rat bites proposes a three-tier classification system based on wound depth and tissue involvement. Most injuries require only conservative wound care without antibiotics or admission, with surgery reserved for infected wounds requiring drainage or full-thickness injuries needing grafting.
