Trends and outcomes following intentional injuries in pediatric patients in a resource-limited setting

Ten-year retrospective study from Malawi examining 42,600 pediatric trauma cases found intentional injuries comprised 5.9% of presentations, with older male children at highest risk. Despite lower mortality than unintentional injuries, intentional harm rates remained stable over the decade, highlighting urgent need for child protection policies in resource-limited settings.
