Delayed presentation of anorectal malformations in a tertiary care hospital in India

Retrospective study of 44 patients with anorectal malformations presenting after 7 days of life at an Indian tertiary center, predominantly females with vestibular fistula. Delayed presentation led to higher rates of staged repair and postoperative complications including constipation (47.7%) and fecal incontinence (27.3%), emphasizing the importance of routine perineal examination in newborns.
