Histological features of complete tracheal rings in congenital tracheal stenosis

This histological study of 31 infants with congenital tracheal stenosis found no significant differences in cartilage cell density or thickness between complete tracheal rings and normal tracheal cartilage, challenging the hypothesis that cartilage malformation causes the condition. The only notable finding was higher cell density on the ventral versus dorsal side of affected cartilage.
