Pediatric Primary Hyperparathyroidism: Experience in a Tertiary Care Referral Center in a Developing Country Over Three Decades

Thirty-year retrospective study of 35 pediatric primary hyperparathyroidism patients shows 94% present symptomatically with skeletal manifestations predominating (83%), including fractures in 54%. Parathyroidectomy achieved 97% cure rate with 40% undergoing minimally invasive approach, though 34% developed hungry bone syndrome postoperatively.
