Prospective Study on Several Urinary Biomarkers as Indicators of Renal Damage in Children with CAKUT

Prospective multicenter study of 80 children with CAKUT demonstrates elevated urinary MCP-1 levels and reduced uEGF/uMCP-1 and uEGF/uβ2M ratios compared to controls, indicating chronic renal inflammation and impaired regenerative capacity. Findings suggest children with solitary functioning kidneys face progressive renal damage risk mediated by monocyte-driven inflammation.
