Dynamic Trend or Static Variable: Shock Index Pediatric-Adjusted (SIPA) in Warzone Trauma

Study of 669 pediatric warzone trauma patients demonstrates that trending Shock Index Pediatric-Adjusted (SIPA) values predicts clinical outcomes better than single measurements. Children with persistently abnormal SIPA showed significantly higher rates of severe injury, ICU admission, mechanical ventilation, and mortality compared to those with normal or improving values.
