Cryoablation is associated with shorter length of stay and reduced opioid use in pectus excavatum repair

Retrospective study of 79 pectus excavatum patients found intercostal nerve cryoablation reduced hospital stay from 5 to 2.5 days compared to thoracic epidural, with lower hospital costs and significantly decreased inpatient and long-term opioid use. Findings support cryoablation as preferred pain control modality for Nuss procedure.
