Characterization of Esophageal Motility in Children With Operated Esophageal Atresia Using High-resolution Impedance Manometry and Pressure Flow Analysis

Study using high-resolution impedance manometry with pressure flow analysis demonstrates severely impaired bolus transport in all 16 children with operated esophageal atresia, though symptom severity did not correlate with objective measures. Patients retaining distal esophageal contractions showed more efficient bolus propulsion than those without, suggesting residual motility patterns may influence functional outcomes.
