Associated Anomalies in Congenital Lung Abnormalities: A 20-Year Experience

This 20-year retrospective study of 196 congenital lung abnormality patients found 14% had major associated anomalies, most commonly cardiac (32%) and gastrointestinal (18%) defects. Lung agenesis and bronchogenic cysts showed highest association rates. Findings support targeted cardiovascular and GI screening with chest/abdominal radiography for all CLA newborns.
