Double barrel enteroplasty for the management of short bowel syndrome in children

This study introduces double barrel enteroplasty (DBE), a novel bowel lengthening technique for pediatric short bowel syndrome. In ten patients, DBE achieved 50% enteral autonomy with no major complications, comparing favorably to established methods like LILT and STEP which carry 30% morbidity and 14% mortality rates.
