Radiographic findings predictive of irreducibility and surgical resection in ileocolic intussusception

Retrospective study of 182 cases examining whether pre-procedure radiographic findings predict therapeutic air enema success and surgical outcomes in pediatric ileocolic intussusception. Bowel obstruction on radiographs significantly decreased enema success rate (21% vs 83%) and increased need for bowel resection (42% vs 4%), providing valuable prognostic information for clinical decision-making.
