"Bariatric families"- a new phenomenon with unique characteristics

Cross-sectional study comparing parental perceptions of childhood obesity between families where parents underwent bariatric surgery versus conservative treatment. Bariatric families showed heightened awareness of obesity's health impact and greater openness to surgical intervention for their children, with 28% of children expecting future bariatric surgery compared to none in control families.
