Quantifying the effect of resident education on outcomes in pediatric appendicitis

Retrospective study of 1,842 pediatric appendectomies comparing outcomes with and without resident involvement. Resident participation increased operative time by 9-10 minutes and charges by $500-600, but showed no difference in complications, length of stay, or readmissions for both simple and complex cases.
