Upside-down kidney placement: an alternative in pediatric renal transplantation

Retrospective study of 181 pediatric kidney transplants comparing upside-down graft placement (n=14) to standard positioning (n=167). Upside-down placement, primarily used when vessel length was insufficient after laparoscopic nephrectomy, showed comparable complication rates and graft outcomes to conventional placement, supporting its use as a safe alternative when anatomically necessary.
