Mowat Wilson syndrome and Hirschsprung disease: a retrospective study on functional outcomes

Retrospective study of 23 Mowat Wilson syndrome patients found 43% had associated Hirschsprung disease, with 80% requiring reoperation due to complications. Despite high surgical morbidity and complex multisystem involvement including seizures and cardiac defects, some patients achieved functional bowel outcomes comparable to non-syndromic cases.
